Project #2 complete!

In my moments of boredom in front of the blanket Olympic coverage I made myself a funky belt/scarf/hair wrap from a ball of luminous pink wool I bought for 50p and my crochet hook. The result is at my project album and is inspired by the similar creation worn by Jessica Simpson in the Newlyweds...

My next more ambitious project is a crochet poncho. I'll keep you all posted.

Fear not, I'm not turning into a craft bore, I'm simply occupying my expanse of free time with things other than reading and day dreaming! Neither am I anti-Olympic! I'm enthralled by our efforts in the boxing and the three-day event, and I have my fingers tightly crossed for Steve Parry in the 200m butterfly final. It's about time everyone adopted Parry and Khan's determination and got Team GBR some serious metal! Go GBR!!!

I'm back!!!

Apologies for such a long break in-between posts, Allegra has had lots of stuff going on in the last week! Went to see a pal from uni for a couple days last weekend and also managed to get myself TWO jobs!!!

Also taken up a new hobby-knitting. I used to think it was a little sad and for old women but going on teh net and seeing masses of fashionable patterns as well as millions of knitting blogs by youngsters has restored my confidence!!! Haven't made anything as such yet, just a practise at different stitches with some wool I managed to blag off fellow knitting relatives, but I've got my sights set on a poncho, scarf and a cute halterneck, so I'll keep ya posted. If you fancy following suit and taking up knitting, I've posted a few links on the right to get you started!

I Don't Know If I'm Doing The Right Thing...

Adding a highly prominent counter to the right-hand side of my page. If I have a feeble number of visitors, not only will I feel depressed, but people will think my page is shite...

Also it presents the risk of me coming online every minute to check if one more person has visited. Dammit

Academic inactivity rears it's ugly head again as I draw yet another day closer to my theory test and have still done zilcho revision. It's not so much the questions as trhe hazard perception. I don't understand the logic of the fecking thing, I get no credit for clicking whenever there's a delinquent brat wandering dangerously close to the kerb, but my knuckles rapped for not "noticing" a sharp bend or a decrepid old Welsh holiday coach stopping suddenly in front of me.

This does not bode well...

Cricket...

During the daylight hours, the television set at Chez Allegra has been seized by the men of the household and permanently tuned to Channel 4 to follow the latest goings on in the England v West Indies cricket match. Now usually, I try to follow the game and then give up through both a permanent lack of understanding of the more technical rules and the vocalised exasperation of the men as a result of my ill-fated attempts at the afore-mentioned, and it becomes another mind-numinbingly boring time for me, not being a sports fan. But the presence of a few tasty cricketers in the form of Andrew Flintoff and James Anderson means that whilst I'll never understand the fundamentals of the game, I will remain an avid viewer of the TV coverage...sigh...
